60 Years of Log Experience

Carl Kuhns, known as "Pop," had a simple vision in 1946 when he bought his first portable sawmill from Montgomery Ward. He wanted to fashion an honest, straightforward way of life, giving a good day's work for a good day's pay, while continuing to nurture the land he loved so much. Pop's twin sons, Leonard and Larry, followed in their father's footsteps, continuing to build upon his dream, when in 1962 they established Kuhns Bros. Lumber Co. with a small, hand-operated, diesel-powered sawmill and three employees.

With their reputation for honesty and fair dealing preceding them, the Kuhns Bros. business grew and within the next thirty-four years the lumber company branched into log homes manufacturing with Kuhns Bros. Log Homes in 1983 and Country Log Cabins in 1996. During this time span, operations expanded to include twelve new kilns, two new sawmills and two new planers while other projects doubled the office space and lumber storage areas.

The family's three generations of business success over five decades eventually led to the evolution of Kuhns Bros. Enterprises , a proud organization of synergistically developed corporations centered around the Kuhn Bros. core business. Country Log Cabins was born to continue the Kuhns family proud heritage, offering an affordable log home for cost-conscious consumers without sacrificing integrity, quality, value, service and innovation.
