Is really the tale of three generations of entrepreneurs and the enterprise they have built. It begins back in 1946, when
Carl R. Kuhns started in business with a portable sawmill from Montgomery Ward. "Pop" started small, but his principles were always large. He believed in an honest, straightforward way of doing business and a healthy respect for God's earth. Through the years these convictions have guided each generation as they ventured into the log home cabin business and increased annual mill production to more than a million board feet annually.
With "Pop's" guidance, twin son's Leonard and Larry Kuhns formed their own logging company Kuhns Bros. Lumber Company. In 1983 Kuhns Bros. Log Homes was founded and quickly gained a reputation for providing the highest quality products and service in the industry. All the while the next generation was being groomed to follow the traditions set in place by "Pop" many years before. Today, as one of America's leading log home manufacturers, Kuhns Bros. Log Homes delivers homes across the country and abroad.
In 1996 Country Log Cabins became the next addition to the family business, the division takes advantage of the entire organization's experience and the capabilities to craft its products. From selectively harvesting the logs, to milling and grading the wood components, and helping buyers with custom design solutions and guidance throughout the buying process, Country Log Cabins remains committed to the principles passed along by "Pop" so many years ago.
