Kuhns Brothers Enterprises (KBE) is an ongoing evolution, beginning with Kuhns Bros. Lumber Co. in 1962. Prompted by the success of their first company and understanding the benefits of economies of scale, the Kuhns family began establishing mutually advantageous, synergistically related companies. The first was Kuhns Bros. Log Homes in 1983, followed by Country Log Cabins in 1996, American Heritage Crafters in 2003 and T&T Realty Acquisitions, also in 2003. KUHNS BROS. LUMBER COMPANY (KBLC) , the oldest company in Kuhns Bros. Enterprises, is humbly rooted in the hard work and valuses of Carl "Pop" Kuhns. The boards sawn from his portable sawmill from Montgomery Ward marked the beginning of an incredibly successful forest products enterprise. Pop's twin sons, Larry and Leonard Kuhns, formally established the company in 1962. Today KBLC saws roughly 20 million board feet of top quality Applachian hardwood and softwood lumber at its three sawmills in Lewisburg, Pennyslvania, and has become an industry leader in mulch, firewood products, and timber harvest services.
KUHNS BROS. LOG HOMES (KBLH) continues as a leading premiere manufacturer of log homes, annually delivering more than 430 homes and cabins across the United States and abroad... from Maine to California, to the countries of Germany, Japan, the Dominican Republic, Denmark, Turkey, Ukraine, the Netherlands, South Korea, Portugal, India, Ireland, Canada and Mexico. KBLH supports an experienced sales representative network within the United States and has dedicated log home sales models in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania; Blakeslee, Pennsylvania (Poconos); Concordia, Missouri and Mebane, North Carolina. Kuhns Bros. encompasses more than 135 acres with more than 200 employees.
T&T REALTY ACQUISITIONS was founded in 2003 to focus on timber procurement and land acquisitions. This corporation not only supports the timber needs of Kuhns Bros. Lumber Co., but also the development interests of KBLH and CLC, procuring land tracks that are laterally beneficial across KBE. Additionally, T&T has acquired and manages properties that accommodate the expansion and growth of KBE manufacturing, retail store and office space.
AMERICAN HERITAGE CRAFTERS (AHC) was also founded in 2003. Created with two distinct divisions in mind, the first division is a web-based retail sales division designed to market home furnishings and accessories to log home consumers. AHC serves the specific needs of this unique market, as identified by KBE research on log home consumer demographics, buying tendencies and preferences. A unique quality found in AHC products is their 100% American made, handcrafted origin. AHC currently contracts with 45 artisans, carrying a full line of more than 3,450 high-end furniture, lighting and accessory products. The second division concentrates on the manufacturing of millwork items and log furniture. Originally focused on the solid wood interior doors and gable end vents included in CLC/KBLH standard packages, the Kuhns Bros. Millwork Store has expanded to include the manufacturing of two exclusive lines of furniture, more than 300 custom door designs, moldings, hardwood flooring and custom millworks. Additionally, a local renowned designer, Richard Steffensen, was contracted to develop a series of furniture designs utilizing specific components from KBLH and CLC manufacturing.
